When I upgraded to 1.8.2 stable I did a clean install and kept only my playlists and savestates, deleted the existing retroarch.cfg and core-config files.Īfter the 1.8.2 upgrade I am getting 60 fps in all GBA games I am testing with gpsp core including FF6 with Audio Remaster, the Metroid Games, the Castlevanie Games and Megaman and Bass. gpsp was more stable but both were too janky to enjoy. In older stable releases such as 1.7.7 FF5 with the Audio Remaster Patch was incredibly slow and buggy and caused GPU crashing for me on the VBANext core. With Fast Forward on I was getting 130-170 on VBANext and 220-240 on gpsp, this was tested specifically booting on the game and watching the opening cutscene. I turned on the FPS Counter in Retroarch 1.8.2 stable release using an uncompressed Final Fantasy 5 (with an Audio Remaster patch applied to it) I was achieving 60fps on both cores. Yes, but I did try VBANext out of curiosity but it did not make any significant difference during normal gameplay with exception of Fast Forward which was actually slower than the gpsp core. Bingo.Įdit edit edit: it was the ribbon cable for the stick's board that was defective. I don't have anything in my autoconfig folder.Ĭan anyone suggest how to fix this please?Įdit edit: tried vitaTester and it showed the right stick is stuck in the bottom left position. The solution won't involve plugins - I haven't been able to do anything useful with it because of this problem, so I haven't installed any plugins. Holding down either of the shoulder buttons stops the cursor, but I can't then do anything else. There is either no response to button presses/stick movements, or the menu cursor jerks around crazily like an extra device is plugged in that it doesn't recognise. I've just modded my Vita and installed RetroArch (following the instructions on the website) and the controls don't work. This has been posted for other versions, but the solutions suggested in those threads don't work for me.
